Amel Hammad brings over fifteen years of diverse healthcare experience with the primary focus on providers across the continuum of care. She began her career in finance & accounting, moved into management consulting, where she spent most of her career focused on organization in crisis with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group, transitioned into operations, finance and strategy with the largest health system in Colorado, with her most recent experience as the Director of Strategic and Special Projects with a Colorado based post-acute provider. While at Alvarez and Marsal, Ms. Hammad provided consulting services to a healthcare provider in Southern Westchester County with her primary focus on building a restructuring and business plan and cash flows projection for an in-court reorganization with a strategic partnership. She has participated in the development and implementation of pre-and post-merger integration plans for supply chain, corporate contracting and other non-clinical operations functions for a large academic medical center in Connecticut. She has participated in a comprehensive hospital-wide analysis of current operations to industry accepted standards of practice to ensure compliance with all Medicare Conditions of Participation for acute hospital providers and EMTALA requirements. She has also provided interim financial management services to management companies for groups of assisted living facilities. In addition, Ms. Hammad assisted in the turnaround of the largest New Jersey hospital system implementing operational initiatives totaling $150 million as well as assisting in the strategic assessment of the organizations strategic plan. She has played a vital role in many development projects, hospital financial and operational assessments and efficiency projects. Prior to that, Ms. Hammad performed management and financial consulting services for hospitals, long-term care facilities and ambulatory care centers. Projects consisted of, but were not limited to, financial feasibility studies for hospital bond issuance, interim financial management assignments, compliance and fraud investigations, due diligence projects, development of business plans, cash flow projections, product line profit and loss statements, quantification of management initiatives, and revenue cycle assessments and Accounts Receivable (A/R) process improvement implementation. She has taken part in turnaround and bankruptcy engagements, for both the debtor and creditor. In addition, she played a vital role in the development of a physician compensation benchmark analysis to determine fair market value of remuneration with respect to workloads measure by Relative Value Units (RVUs). Prior to her management consulting experience, she worked in the long-term care arena focused on performing financial management responsibilities with skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and home health. She has performed audits and prepared Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for various types of healthcare entities. Ms. Hammad is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from the University of Denver with an expected completion in August 2018 and holds a Masters’ in Health Administration and Bachelors’ in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
